Christoph Jamnitzer's copper heraldic animal was removed in 1983 for restoration and on the occasion of the upcoming exhibition to mark the 400th anniversary of Wenzel Jamnitzer's death. A small metal plate with the following name was discovered on the back of the left tail scroll: "CHRISTOF IAMMIZER GOLDSCHMID UND MICHEL ADELHART VERFERTIGTEN DIS ANO 1617." Michel Adelhart was a coppersmith who lived in Nuremberg from 1574 to 1632.
