From the series: Reminiscences of Franconian Switzerland. The most interesting views of it, printed in tonal ink by Th. Rothbart (no date given). The series was advertised in the Würzburg Advertiser on June 15, 1864, for one gulden and 30 kreuzer. Earlier (around 1840), a series entitled "Franconian Switzerland. Cycle of the Most Interesting Spots in the Vicinity of Muggendorf and Streitberg" had been published in Nuremberg, featuring illustrations by Th. Rothbart based on preliminary drawings by Carl Kaeppel (1822-1883). These prints differ from those of the later series.
