The figures of Mary and John attached to the inside of the eastern entrance portal, which are now lost, are said by Nagel to have come from Adam Kraft's Calvary (Friedrich August Nagel: Der Johanniskirchhof in Nürnberg, in: Monatsblätter der Evang.-luth. Gemeinde St. Johannis, Nov. 1928, p. 2).


Christoph Gottlieb von Murr mentions it in 1778 in his description of the most distinguished sights in the free city of Nuremberg on p. 346.
