General view

Bronze baptismal font with accompanying grille and canopy by Hans von Köln 1520, the grille cast in Nuremberg 1522. The baptismal font was heatable, its cupola shows parallels to goblets of the same period. Lions and candelabra pillars support the cupola. The tambour was fluted. The work as a whole shows the "war" between late Gothic and Renaissance, similar to the Sebaldusgrab in Nuremberg.

Location: Salzwedel, Church of Our Lady

Design: von Köln, Hans

Realization: von Köln, Hans

Material: Bronze
