"Nuremberg, 29 July (1910). A personality known far beyond Nuremberg's borders, Mr. Martin Lebrecht senior, who was outstandingly active in all areas of Jewish communal life, has died these days.


He was the co-founder and for many years a member of the board of the 'Zentralverein Fürth-Nürnberg und der angeschlossenen Gemeinden zur Unterstützung armer durchreisender Israeliten', a member of the 'Ausschuss des Landesvereins für israelitische Kultusgemeinden in Bayern', Delegate to the 'German-Israelite Community Federation', confidant for Nuremberg-Fürth of the 'Aid Society of German Jews', supporter of the 'Central Association of German Citizens of Jewish Faith' and at the same time tireless and successful promoter of all Jewish welfare and community efforts. (...) "
