(...) 1929-39 Studies at the State School for Applied Arts Nuremberg under Wilhelm Nida-Rümelin, at the AdBK Munich under Karl-August Hahn and at the State Academy of Arts Düsseldorf under Edwin Scharff. 1934 master's examination as wood and stone sculptor. Study trips to Austria, France, Italy and Spain. 1939 military service, 1945 return to Nuremberg. He rendered special services to the restoration or reconstruction of works of art damaged or destroyed during the Second World War.(...)
