Unknown Master Johannes von Ehenheim (died April 19, 1438), Doctor of Canon Law (doctor decretorum), was a canon in Bamberg from 1424 and vicar general there from 1430 to 1437. He died after serving as parish priest of St. Lorenz for only a month and a half. Characteristic of this period is the completely nude depiction of Christ—the loincloth is made of transparent tulle. Recent scholarship has also attributed the Passion Altarpiece in St. John's Church to the Master of the Ehenheim Epitaph or his workshop (Die Malerei des Spätmittelalters im Germanischen Nationalmuseum, Franken 1, 2019, pp. 216–221).

Location: Nuremberg, St. Lorenz, Chapel 10
