View from the northwest with moat
The manor was built in 1578 in the style of a Nuremberg moated manor house under the merchant Valentin Schönborn. Through his daughter's marriage to Pius Petz, the property came into the possession of this family, who still own it today. The early modern typology had essentially already crystallized before the Second Margrave War of 1552 – for example, the four corner structures under pyramidal roofs (Hallerschloss, brick). The outbuildings were constructed using half-timbering. The current front door dates from 1910.
