1600

Conrad Wißheckel from Laufamholz, whose "civilian" occupation is listed as box maker or furrier, was also a fencing master and member of the Marxbruderschaft (Brotherhood of St. Mark), which ran fencing schools at the Golden Star and the Heilsbronn Court. He married Apollonia, daughter of the deceased Hans Schenck, on March 10, 1595. The wedding, recorded in the St. Lorenz parish register, took place in Wöhrd. He acquired citizenship in 1597. Between 1595 and 1610, he had four sons and five daughters baptized. The Lion of St. Mark with the longsword on his epitaph identifies him as a member of the Marxbruderschaft.
