St. George's Church

St. George

The current St. George's Church was built by architect Fritz Mayer under Pastor Karl Röckelein and consecrated on April 22, 1956, by Archbishop Dr. Joseph Schneider. The patronal feast day is April 23.

(...)

The Stations of the Cross were created in 1959 by the sculptor Luis Rauschhuber, as was the Pietà in the vestibule. The stained-glass windows there were designed by Alfons Abel in 1964. The statue of St. George once stood on the high altar of the first St. George's Church (1922-54) and comes from the Stärk sculpture workshop in Nuremberg.
