Rochus Chapel / Window w / Crucifixion of Christ

Rochus Chapel / Window w / Crucifixion of Christ

Rochus Chapel / Window w / Crucifixion of Christ

1520

"The west window, like its counterpart in the chancel's central window, has three panels, but its height is reduced to three lines, and panels 2 and 3 depict the Crucifixion of Christ. Of all the chapel's windows, it is in the worst condition. The central panel with the Crucified Christ was completely renewed in 1890; in addition, numerous other alterations can be seen in panels 2a, 2c, and 3c." ``` Source: Corpusvitrearum.de https://corpusvitrearum.de/glasmalerei-im-kontext.html - Corpus vitrearum medii aevi - Germany, Volume 10.1, Part 1: Berlin: Deutscher Verlag für Kunstwissenschaft, 2002 ________________________________________ Image source: Title: Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528): Christ on the Cross with Angel Border, Bartsch VII.124.56 Inventor: Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) Design: 1516 Woodcut; 27.5 x 22.3 cm (sheet, trimmed) 48.3 x 34.8 cm (sheet) Signature: I F 15 Cite link: urn:nbn:de:bvb:22-dtl-0000097098 Digital Collections of the Bamberg State Library Lit.: The Rochus Chapel in Nuremberg, Josef Fink Art Publishers, Lindenberg im Allgäu, 2021
