"It is an inspirational formulation of the Tucher coat of arms or emblem, which is why it must be mentioned that the Tucher brewery, located in the immediate vicinity, was the sponsor of this facility." Elke Masa (Outdoor sculptures in Nuremberg, 1994) The Tucher coat of arms shows a profile picture of Saint Mauritius. Due to his origins in the ancient kingdom of Mauritania, Saint Mauritius was often depicted with dark skin and referred to as a Moor. Over time, the word "Moor" developed from this term of origin, and Moors and "Moors" were often equated. The name Mauritius (German Moritz, Hungarian Móric, French Maurice, English Morris, Italian Maurizio) is also derived from this.
