The mosaic with the large Nuremberg city coat of arms was originally created for the art gallery of the 1906 Nuremberg State Exhibition and, after the building's demolition, was moved to the Museum of Applied Arts.
The three placements of the later mosaics by Julius Diez are visible on the plans drawn by architect Paul Pfann for the art gallery of the 1906 State Exhibition in Nuremberg.
