Fountain with painter's shields

Fountain with painter's shields

Fountain with painter's shields

1906

Design: Julius Diez, Execution: Carl Ule Workshop (Munich)

The mosaic depicting the fountain was originally created for the art gallery of the 1906 Nuremberg State Exhibition and was moved to the Museum of Industry after the building's demolition.

The three placements of Julius Diez's later mosaics are visible in the plans by architect Paul Pfann for the art gallery of the 1906 State Exhibition in Nuremberg.

A detailed elevation shows the stylized fountain motif in the center (now on the 3rd floor of the Museum of Industry): Nuremberg: 1906 State Exhibition, Art Exhibition Building - East Main Facade (View) | Paul Pfann | Image Index of Art & Architecture
