The so-called Kaeser's House at the confluence of the Pegnitz River

The so-called Kaeser's House at the confluence of the Pegnitz River

1849

The so-called Kaeser's House at the confluence of the PEGNITZ IN NUREMBERG after the great flood on January 15, 1849 On February 8, 1849, Marx placed an advertisement for the completed steel engraving in the Mittelfränkische Zeitung, whose publication he had already announced on January 20. had announced: "and I hope all the more to be able to enjoy a large sale, as I have designated a third of the proceeds for the benefit of those who suffered in the flood. The view, engraved in large folio and elegantly, is taken from the tower within the influence of the Pegnitz River, and shows the badly damaged cheesemaker's house in the middle distance; to the right, the grinding and sand mill along with the demolished mill bridge; to the left, the view towards the hay bridge; and the print will certainly be a lasting reminder for everyone of the greatest flood in Nuremberg, until the very end of time."
