____________________

Simplicius, Faustinus, and Beatrix, Saints (July 29 / July 30, Fulda), are siblings. The bodies of the Roman brothers, martyred and beheaded under Diocletian, were pulled from the Tiber by their sister and buried in the "Coemeterium ad Ursum pileatum" (Cemetery at Ursum Pilate). According to the older legend, which is represented by the 12th-century Hirs Passover, Beatrix was strangled in her bed.
