Last passage from the pastoral word of the German bishops

on the occasion of the canonisation of Edith Stein on 11 October 1998:

(...)

The path that Edith Stein walked at the hand of the Lord did not end in the gas chamber of Auschwitz, but in resurrection with Christ. The Church bears witness to this through the solemn canonisation which the Holy Father is carrying out today. In doing so, the Pope places Edith Stein's life on a high lampstand. Let light shine from it into our lives, so that we too, like her, may be led by the hand of the Lord and always seek the truth in order to find God. Then we too will be blessed by the cross of Christ and finally, like them, be perfected in God.

To this end, may Almighty God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit bless you.
