Son of Frederick VII, cousin of Willibald Imhoff. ∞ I) January 7, 1549, Barbara (* 1526 – † April 13, 1551), daughter of Georg II Kötzler, three children; II) early 1554, Magdalena Römer, nine children. After serving the Imhoff family business for almost 12 years, he joined Endres Imhoff's trading company as a full partner on August 23, 1548, with a capital contribution of 4,686 florins. From 1549 to 1568, he was named a "Grandfather," on April 20, 1550, and in 1561, Grand Mayor. He was known for his collection of Venetian glass and majolica. His household accounts from August 1, 1548, to 1568, published in MVGN 6 and 7, provide a comprehensive insight into the lifestyle and expenses of a patrician household and also contribute to the cultural and economic history of Nuremberg. Behaim lived in Zisselgasse, now Albrecht-Dürer-Straße 4. At his death, he was Supreme Warlord, a member of the Trimvirt. He paid Nicolas Neufchatel 12 talers, plus material costs, for his portrait, painted in 1567. Panzer recorded his portrait. 1567 commemorative medal.
