Fresco painter, designer of stained glass and mosaics, watercolorist, Studied at the Weimar Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Georg Egger-Lienz and Carl Johann Becker-Gundahl. Military service 1914-18. After the war, he was a master student of Becker-Gundahl. Study trips to Ravenna, Assisi, and Rome. From 1935, he headed the seminar for drawing teachers at the Luitpold Gymnasium in Munich. He also devoted himself primarily to fresco painting for sacred spaces.
