Leopold
Pronner (Bronner)

ivory carver, art wood turner

born Thalhausen/Kärnten, 1550

died Nürnberg, 26. Jan 1630

He left his homeland for religious reasons and was active in Nuremberg from around 1600. He is said to have carved and written with such finesse well into old age that he could fit eight different faces onto a single cherry pit and write the Lord's Prayer on a penny-sized piece, with space in the center for a cross. In the St. Lorenz Church's necrology, he is listed as a lieutenant in the Royal Stables.
