Son of Lorenz. Together with his father, he is considered the most important representative of artistic woodturning in Nuremberg. He invented the artificial eye made of ivory, which was first depicted in a copper engraving in 1680. Zick also produced disassembled male and female anatomical models made of ivory, as well as the first Trinity rings made in Nuremberg. Around 1700, such an ivory ring cost about 1 florin.
