Son of Franz Xaver, architect. First training probably from his father. 1817 student at the Nuremberg art school and under the director Albert Reindl. After initially working for his father in the royal district building office in Ansbach, he joined the Princely Thurn and Taxis administration in 1823, for which he worked for 53 years until his death. Around 1816 he made the preliminary drawing for a caption by Georg Adam, depicting a small garden in the Charterhouse (in Nuremberg).
