Student at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts. Studied at the Munich academies under Gabriel von Hackl and Karlsruhe under Caspar Ritter and Ferdinand Keller. Study trips to Paris, Holland, Belgium and England. Freelance painter in Nuremberg since 1907. He painted mainly town and village views and landscapes from Franconia, mainly in oil. 1911/32 at Sandstrasse 43. He was a member of the Nuremberg Art Association in 1922/24. He died shortly before the start of the "North Bavarian Art Exhibition", which began on June 26, 1936.
