Apprenticeship as a wood and stone sculptor. Afterwards he visited the arts and crafts schools in Munich and Nuremberg as well as the Munich Academy. Freelance sculptor in Nuremberg since 1927. In 1939 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht. In 1929 he lived at Riemenschneiderstraße 6, 1932 Merkelsgasse 19 (Atelier Bartholomäusstr. 22), 1952/58 Effeltricher Straße 25. Member of the Künstlerklause since 1921, of the Artists' Association in 1954, member of the Association of Franconian Artists and the BBK.
