died Nürnberg, 1516
Hans II (Johann), † between February 13 and May 14, 1516, Nuremberg. Son of Veit the Elder, married Margaretha, with whom he had a daughter, Magdalena. According to Neudörfer, he died "in the prime of his life"; presumably, the entry in the death register of St. Sebald from 1516 refers to him and not to his uncle of the same name. His daughter Magdalena, still under guardianship, reached an agreement with her grandfather, Veit Hirsvogel, on February 15, 1524, regarding her inheritance from his deceased daughter, Ottilia; her mother, Margaretha, had meanwhile married Hans Durs, treasurer of Abenberg. Magdalena was still a minor at the time of the inheritance settlement for Veit Hirsvogel the Elder in 1528. On June 4, 1529, she married Wolff Steinbeck from Wels. On July 26, 1529, she received her parental and maternal inheritance from her stepfather. Lit.:
