Heinrich
Traxdorf (Droßdorff)

He came from Mainz and was one of the leading organ builders of his time.

In 1440-42, he created the large main organ in St. Sebald's Church for 1150 florins, one of the largest known organs of that era. The case survived the centuries and was considered the oldest organ case in the world until it was destroyed by war in 1945.

In 1442-43, Traxdorf built a medium-sized and a small positive organ for the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady).
