Son of Richard, art and metal caster.∞ 1922 Berta Weber († 1961).

After initial training by his father, he attended the Nuremberg School of Arts and Crafts under Philipp Widmer in 1914-16. He continued his education as an autodidact, especially in his father's metal foundry, and undertook study trips to Hungary, Denmark and Italy. From 1922 he was a freelance sculptor in Nuremberg. In the beginning he mainly produced arts and crafts works of metal, later life-like portraits, among others of: Andreas Bach, 1927; Heinrich Kuch, 1928; Self-portrait, 1930; Erni Wassinger, 1930; Carl Dupont, 1933; Richard Bergner, 1935; Ursula Bloss, 1942; Hildegard Gyr, 1945; Max Thoma, 1962 as well as numerous epitaphs for Nuremberg cemeteries. All bronzes were cast and chased by Brückner himself, almost all works are privately owned. 1929/32 he lived in Marxstraße 46, 1934/79 in Nbg.-Ziegelstein, Hiltpoltsteiner Straße 64. 1929 he received the Ungar. In 1929 he received the Hungarian State Prize, in 1974 the Medal of Honour of the AdBK Nuremberg. He was a member of the artists' cooperative "Die Hütte" 1924-75, 1963-76 on the board of the Albrecht Dürer House Foundation Nuremberg. A photo documentation of his works is in the GS at MStN.
