Johann Denner was the son of the piece and bell founder
Georg Denner in Zell; on 7.6.1692 he married Maria Magdalena, daughter of the hatter Johann Hack. He became a master craftsman in Nuremberg in 1692. From his cousin, the widow Anna of Sebastian Denner, he received in 1692 the Mark: "Tanne", which he struck with his initials I - D.
